Transplant was a No-Go!

My dad did not have the kidney transplant yesterday.  The donor kidney necrosed and was not suitable for transplantation.  Dad continues to remain positive through all of this.  He called it a good practice run.  He remains at the top of this list and prayerfully he’ll get his new kidney soon.  Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes!

The Baylor Transplant team called my dad at 3 PM………….they have a kidney for him! He and my mother were in New Orleans visiting my terminally ill aunt.  They were able to get on a 4:25 PM flight out of New Orleans and will be here at 6PM.  I’m on my way to pick them up.  My dad has been in renal failure for three years. I’m so excited that his time has finally come.  Please keep us in your prayers!!

I’ve been thinking.  My Best Friend In The Whole Wide World came to visit last week. We met in college at Sou.thern Unive.rsity in Baton Rouge, LA.  We’ve been friends for almost 20 years.  She is the sister that I never had.  She has two daughters; Miranda & Kennedy.  Miranda is four and Kennedy just turned one on Sept 5th.  Her visit may have changed my life.

I’ve been quiet because I’ve been thinking. I’m not sure that I’m ready to share what I’ve been thinking.  Because once I put out there, there is no going back. So until I’m ready, I’ll continue to think.  Sorry if this is cryptic, but I truly believe that words are powerful.  I want to make sure that this is how I truly feel before I say it out loud.

Happy Anniversary Shug!!

On September 17, 2005, I married the love of my life.  We’ve been through a lot these past three years.  We’ve weathered life’s ups and downs and so far we’re coming out on top.

Our original wedding date was November 12, 2005 in New Orleans where we lived at the time.  It was going to be a small, but lavish wedding at the Carl.ton in NOLA.  We really wanted small and simple, but my mother had other ideas.  She had kind of taken over and it was going to be a much larger event than we really wanted.

We evacuated to Dallas the saturday before Hurricane Katrina hit, and have never looked back.  On September 13, 2005 on a whim, we went to the courthouse in Arlington, TX .  We wanted to inquire about getting a marriage license.  The clerk asked us if we had $40 and our driver’s licenses’.  We had both and with that we were able to get our marriage license.  We were so excited.  We decided that we would go ahead with our original plan of a small and simple wedding.  We told my mom that she had until Saturday, September 17th to plan our wedding.  She tried to take over, but she didn’t have enough time.  She did manage to get a two-tier wedding cake, which was DELICIOUS! Old friends and family that had evacuated were our guests. It was small and perfect.

He’s an amazingly wonderful man, and I’m truly blessed to have him as my husband.  He’s not perfect, but neither am I.  I thank God for him daily.  He’s all that I want and all that I need.

I am TheMrs!

I changed my nickname from Imafishey to TheMrs.  While I love all things fish , TheMrs is really me.

Today is CD11. I can tell that I’m going to ovulate early this month. The nether region is on fire, and it feels like I’m going to ovulate from my left ovary.  These symptoms usually start around CD14.  Like I said yesterday, I’m going to speak pregnancy into existence – I guess my body said “Let’s get it started.”
